Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Design Head – MEP to lead our MEP design function. This role will be responsible for driving the design strategy, ensuring technical excellence, and managing end-to-end MEP design delivery for commercial fit-out and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will combine deep technical expertise with strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, mentor, and manage a team of MEP designers and engineers

Define and implement MEP design strategies aligned with project and business goals

Oversee end-to-end design development including concept, detailed design, and documentation

Ensure seamless coordination with architectural, structural, and execution teams

Review and validate drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications

Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and client requirements

Drive value engineering and cost optimization without compromising quality

Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation for design deliverables

Liaise with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders for design approvals and alignment

Stay updated with latest industry trends, technologies, and best practices in MEP design

Key Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering or related field

10–15 years of experience in MEP design, preferably in commercial interior fit-out or design & build projects

Strong technical expertise in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems Proficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit (MEP), and other relevant software

Solid understanding of local and international codes and standards

Proven experience in leading and managing design teams

Strong coordination, communication, and stakeholder management skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills

Experience in handling large-scale commercial or industrial projects

Exposure to value engineering and cost control strategies

Familiarity with sustainability practices and green building standards (LEED, IGBC, etc.)
